About Ken Owens
Ken Owens, an award-winning, results-driven, marketing communications professional, heads Owens Marketing Group.

As Director of Olympic Marketing and Event Management for John Hancock Financial Services, Ken built powerful programs around sports and event sponsorships, including the Olympics, USA Hockey, the Boston Marathon and The Ryder Cup.  These included the creation of successful, cost-effective grass roots events that increased corporate brand awareness and sales.

One such program increased the number of high-performing sales associates by 47%, resulting in an additional $50 million in sales in a single year.

His work as Executive Producer of meetings and events worldwide for John Hancock led to Crystal and Cine Awards both for the creative and for the staging of these events.

Ken was an early driving force in championing and creating community relations programs for the company.

His earlier work with the American Cancer Society contributed to the establishment of a statewide cancer information service, played a key role in the 200% increase in annual funding, the increase of cancer education programs by 1300% and the acquisition of a $6.5 million Federal Cancer Control program for Rhode Island.

Ken is accredited (APR) by the Public Relations Society of America, and is president of the Dean’s Advisory Board of the University of Rhode Island College of Nursing.

Also, Ken is affiliated with the Kullberg Consulting Group (KCG).  For more information about KCG, please click on to www.KullbergConsultingGroup.com.
